The digital 4G GSM is the latest development from Videx, employing mobile phone technology to operate automatic gates, doors and remote site installations. Based on the same technology as the 4G GSM PRO series the digital 4G GSM is available in the 4000 series style and vandal resistant option with the panel totally self-contained and only requiring an external power supply, antenna and nano size SIM card (not supplied by Videx).

The digital 4G GSM can call up to 750 apartments (users) with an option for a 1000 apartment (user) also available. Each user can have a primary number stored with a divert facility to call up to 3 additional telephone numbers should the first be busy or unanswered. For the 1000 user option only a primary number and single divert number can be programmed.

All variants include a large blue back-lit graphical LCD display (128×64 pixels) and blue back-lit illuminated keypad with either additional scroll buttons (4812R, VR4812R) or alpha keys A-F (4812, VR4812).

Proximity access control is integrated as standard for up to 2000 users and a coded access facility is also available for 750 users (1 code per user, 1000 codes for the 1000 user oprion). Up to 3000 telephone numbers can be stored to take advantage of the dial to open (DTO) feature which enables callers to dial the digital GSM and release the door or gate without being charged for the call (for the 1000 user option 2000 DTO numbers can be programmed).

The DDA compliant voice annunciation facility guides a visitor through the steps of making a call with the tenant to gain access. The large graphical LCD display can be customised for each installation and a company logo can also be uploaded to the display to greet visitors to the building. The name scroll option enables visitors to scroll through a list of names to find the company or person they are visiting or alternatively the visitor can type the apartment or unit number into the keypad to make the call.

Additional features include a push to exit input, dry contact relay output, an auxiliary input and output and a trade timeclock input. Programming the digital GSM can be carried out using standard SMS text messages, or via either of the GSM mobile Apps (the SMS Wizard App for users and SMS Wizard PRO App for installers and engineers) and/or the GSMSK PC software including the new remote “over the air” feature (programming is still carried out using the PC software without the need to actually connect the GSM module directly to a PC via the micro-USB or RS485 connection). The Apps are available to download for free from Google Play (for android devices) or from the App. Store (for iOS devices).

The digital GSM can store up to 8000 events which can be downloaded from the module via the micro-USB connection when using the GSMSK PC software or if required the events can be viewed and monitored remotely in real-time using Videx’s web browser based events application. These events can be viewed on any device such as a tablet, smartphone or laptop and PC.
